The product image shows a bulb with the main bulb within a hoop of glass, which was intriguing to me, but what you actually get is a large bulb, maybe the size of a medium cantaloupe? The large twisted "filament" inside is a fun look and I've already gotten that exact comment from a guest: "Fun!" If you're wondering, the base is a standard US light socket size, so it's going to fit any common hanging fixture or lamp as long as there's room for the bulb itself. It gets very wide fast, but there's a bit of an extension just in case your receptacle is recessed a bit. The light has almost an orange glow to it, and the bulb is dimmable. It doesn't get super bright, but you're going to want this for mood lighting, not task lighting. It's LED, so it doesn't get hot or even warm to the touch, and it wasn't as fragile feeling as I was afraid it might be. You'll still want to be careful - it's going to want to roll if you put it down carelessly. I don't really know how to judge the value as I've never had anything quite like this before. I do have other odd-looking bulbs, but they're much smaller and designed for lamps. If it looks like it'd fit with your decor and the very warm, orange glow is appealing, I think you'll be pleased.

A light bulb?…yes, but more a beautiful Golden Glass & LED artistic creation. So much more than a light bulb. I expected big when I ordered it, but Wow! This thing is the size of my head…literally, I put my ball cap on it, and it fit. Beauty’s in the eye of the beholder, so you judge, but IMHO I find kinetic art, like this, fascinating. The wattage is very warm with an output of 5w or 40w incandescent. If that’s too bright, the bulb is dimmable. In fact, I had to turn the bulb way down in order to photograph it. Art’s frequently called “painting with light”. I like it when the light IS the art…Recommended.

This is one big bulb. From the marketing, I thought there were holes in it but these were reflections. I attached some images to give you an idea of what the product actually looks like. it will not fit in most lamps. It gives off a warm hue that I find calming. Its important to note that this is fragile and should be handled carefully. The bottom line is that people looking for a warm very large light will like this.
